Event Note: Heritage Skills Seminar at London Transport Museum on 30 October 2025

October 2, 2025 /

Transport Heritage comes along with maintaining operational historic vehicles. The skills to do so have become a preservation task themself. London Transport Museum is hosting a seminar to discuss approaches to skills preservation on Thursday 30 October 2025.

The next installment of London Transport Museums’ Heritage Skills Seminar series takes place on Thursday 30 October 2025.

This seminar aims to bring together people working with transport heritage to discuss the problem of skills shortages in maintaining operational historic vehicles. We’ll discuss various approaches to skills preservation with heritage professionals from the road vehicle preservation movement and beyond to guide future best practice. There will be a mixture of talks and discussion.

The event will be in person at the London Transport Museum Depot in Acton, West London (a short walk from Acton Town Underground station). It runs from 11am to 4pm on 30 October 2025. Tea and coffee served from 11am. Participation is free and a sandwich lunch is provided.

Please express your interest via email to Samuel Carter (contact information below) by 24 October. Please also let him know about any dietary or access requirements. I will be following up closer to the time with full details and a schedule for the day, including details of speakers and discussion topics.

Please feel free to share this invitation amongst your networks, all are welcome.
