Who we are - IATM

The International Association of Transport and Communications Museums (IATM) is a global umbrella organisation supporting the work of museums in the field. It consists of more than 100 members in over 30 countries. The network meets the aims and questions of its members with passion and imagination. It exists to promote the professional networking of its members in order to enhance the quality of their work for the benefit of society, visitors and customers.

Communication and cooperation are the main tasks of IATM to support the represented museums in their work. Among others, its annual conferences, a global community of professionals, a fellowship programme and different resources, offer members many opportunities to share best practices, exchange knowledge and collaborate. Within its fields IATM has the same aims and methods as those of the International Council of Museums (ICOM), which it is affiliated with.
The network is open to institutions as well as individuals.
