What’s IATM’s Fellowship Programme “Skill Bridge”?

IATM offers a special fellowship programme to support the exchange between its members. Skill Bridge enables IATM members and their employees to improve jointly, learn, share best practices and develop projects across national borders.

We support your projects with up to 5,000 Euro for travel and accommodation. They can concern any kind of museum work. Skill Bridge is for you if…

  • … you’ve been interested in the project of a museum of transport and communication.
  • … are interested in a certain subject matter and would like to perform a project, research or else on it.
  • … or are eager to exchange on a certain matter and develop a joint (international) project.

Furthermore, IATM supports you in finding a suitable hosting institution. Plus, we connect you to the partners you need. We provide more details on Skill Bridge here.

A Special Skill Bridge Opportunity

Additionally, IATM is introducing a unique opportunity for its upcoming annual conference Museums in Danger from 8-11 September in Finland.

Skill Bridge is extending its mandate to include funding support for the IATM conferences for staff that would not necessarily be eligible to attend. With this Skill Bridge Bursary we aim at staff below the level of senior management within an organisation and for applicants that have not previously attended an IATM conference.

We provide up to 1000 Euro for the conference fee, your travel and your accommodation at the annual conference.
As an applicant, you must be a full-time employee at an IATM member and in a current position below senior management level.

Process:
  • Fill out the application below. This includes a written proposal on why attendance to this conference is important for your position within your organisation.
  • Only applications approved by their home organisations are eligible.
  • Submit the application and proposal via email to IATM Board Member Stephen Quick by 30 June 2024: Squick242@me.com / Subject: Skill Bridge Bursary 2024

If you would like to know more about these opportunities or have further questions, please reach out to our Board Member Stephen Quick, who will support you in the process.
