During IATM’s 46th Annual Conference in London, Joachim Breuninger, Director of Deutsches Technikmuseum (German Museum of Technology) in Berlin, was elected new president of the network.

Dear IATM members and non-members, This past year we had a wonderful conference that took us to Lucerne, Berne and through the historic tunnels to the Ticino district of Switzerland on the Italian border. We were warmly welcomed by the Transport Museum in Lucerne, the Museum of Communication in Berne and to Bellinzona in Ticino and the Castello Sasso Carbero. As always it was wonderful to bring together colleagues from museums facing the same issues with the same lack of resources. You can read the full report at here. This report will cover the activities for the International Association of Transport and Communication Museums (IATM) for the year 2016. The report will cover the objectives, conferences, activities, programs and significant results realized during this past year. IATM embraces members from many countries and meets all over the world. IATM is an organisation established in 1968 and affiliated to ICOM – the International Council of Museums. IATM has a seat in the ICOM Advisory Commitee and participates in the election of the ICOM Executive Council. The Network includes most of the main national museums in the field of Transport and Communications together with many smaller museums and also a number of individuals with a special interest of knowledge.
