A historic tram driving through Prague

Call for papers and presentations on good practice from member museums

IATM Conference, Prague, 28-31 August 2022

IATM is proud to present its first in-person conference in three years. The IATM Board are keen for as many delegates as possible to have a voice in Prague, to tell us about your museum and it’s view of the future, so do get in touch with your ideas now.

This is the opportunity for you to make a short 15-20 minute presentation to the conference, perhaps a case study or reflection from your own museum, for Session One: Museums as advocates for environmental sustainability. How will your exhibitions and public programmes make the case for the need for action in climate change and sustainable cities?  Or can you contribute to Laura Wright’s (London Postal Museum) Session Two: Relevance on audience diversity and collecting during Covid…tell us about what have you done to diversify your audiences, make your programmes relevant to new visitors, or collect the impact of Covid-19 on your community? Or can you contribute ten minutes to Session Three: What have we learned from the Covid-19 years? Have you recovered better than before? If so, how? How are our organisations and programmes different? This is a great opportunity for you to showcase your museum, give yourself a re-charge for the future, network with colleagues from the best communications and transport museums in the world, all in the surroundings of beautiful Prague.

Please submit a short half page outline by email to emma.luggie@ltmuseum.co.uk by 3 June at the latest.

Conference hosts: Czech Postal Museum, National Technical Museum, Prague Transport Museum and Czech Railway Museum.
